In 2017, the Zander & Partner team projected video mappings onto the front façade of Bellevue Palace, the official residence of the Federal President in Berlin. The Federal President had offered a special award worth 2,000 euros on the subject of democracy. Video mapping artists from all over the world were invited to translate their ideas and visions of democracy into images and sound. What ideas the applicants had and how they implemented them was a surprise for visitors to the Festival of Lights. The projection was opened by Federal President Steinmeier at 9 p.m. on October 6, 2017. The video mappings were then shown every evening until October 8, 2017. Visitors were able to vote for their personal favorite.
